Low Back Pain

Low back pain is a symptom with several patterns underneath it, and the right herbal support depends on which one you have. Cold and stiff that eases with heat and worsens in damp weather is cold-damp obstruction. Sharp and fixed in one spot, often after a lift or a twist, is blood stasis. Dull, weak, and worse the longer you stand or the more tired you get is Kidney deficiency.

The back is Bladder channel territory. Where the ache sits and what makes it better tells a practitioner more than the word "backache" ever will.

Matching the formula

Back Support (AC) is the acute pick for a recent, inflamed, stuck back. Back Support (CR) tonifies and strengthens for the chronic, deficient back that never fully recovers. Back Support (HD) is built for disc and soft-tissue integrity when the problem is structural. Cold-damp presentations often do better with a warming classical formula alongside.

Why it keeps coming back

A back that flares every few months in a run-down person is usually a Kidney deficiency story under the acute strain. Moving blood and dispelling damp clears the episode. Tonifying the Kidney is what changes the pattern of recurrence.

Get assessed rather than self-treating if

You have leg weakness that is getting worse, numbness in the saddle area, any change in bladder or bowel control, pain that followed a significant fall or accident, or night pain with unexplained weight loss. Those need examination first.

If the pain radiates down the back of the leg, Sciatica & Nerve Pain is the better fit. If it sits in the hip and buttock, see Hip Pain.
