TCM actions: Ventilates and disseminates Lung qi, stops cough, expels phlegm, releases residual wind.

Commonly used for: A cough that persists after a cold has otherwise resolved: an itchy throat, a cough that comes in bouts, sputum that is difficult to bring up, and mild aversion to wind.

Tongue and pulse: Thin white coat. Floating, moderate pulse.

Dosing: Standard adult dose is 6 to 10 g of granules per day, or 12 capsules per day, divided. Acute or severe presentations may go higher. Your dose is set on your intake, not on the bottle.
