WU SHI GAO - Five Stone Ointment

Also known as: Wu Shi Gao, Five Stone Ointment.

Five minerals and twenty herbs. The name refers to the stones: gypsum, zinc carbonate, oyster shell, alum and iron oxide.

Minerals dry a surface in a way plant material cannot. This is the one for skin that is greasy and flaking at the same time, which is a combination most creams handle badly.

What's doing the work

• Shi Gao (calcium sulfate), Mu Li (oyster shell), Ming Fan (potassium alum) and zinc carbonate, the mineral core.
• Huang Bai (Phellodendron amurense) and Qing Dai as Polygonum tinctorium.
• Bai Xian Pi (Dictamnus) and Ku Shen (Sophora flavescens) for itch.
• Wu Bei Zi (Rhus semialata gall) for astringency, with Cang Zhu (Atractylodes lancea) drying damp.

How to use

Apply 3 to 5 times a day.
