Also known as: Re Dai Chuang Gao, Z Ointment.

A twenty-eight ingredient ointment for skin that has blistered and is now healing. It goes on after the blisters have gone, not during.

Da Qing Ye and Chinese indigo lead it, with the three yellows behind and frankincense and myrrh for the surface.

What's doing the work

  • Da Qing Ye (Isatis leaf) and Qing Dai as Polygonum tinctorium, both classical for hot, erupting skin.
  • Huang Lian (Coptis), Huang Bai (Phellodendron) and Da Huang (Rheum palmatum).
  • Ru Xiang (frankincense) and Mo Yao (myrrh) resin oils for the repairing surface.
  • Bai Xian Pi (Dictamnus), Ku Shen (Sophora flavescens) and Wu Bei Zi (Rhus semialata gall) for itch and astringency.

How to use

Apply 2 to 3 times a day, once any blistering has cleared.
