JIU ZHA SHUI GAO - Balancing Cream

Also known as: Jiu Zha Shui Gao, Balancing Cream, Redness Reducing Cream, Rosacea Face Cream.

A cream for skin that flushes, with visible vessels and an uneven tone. Horse chestnut and stable vitamin C do the vascular work, frankincense and myrrh carry the scent.

This one is genuinely fragranced, by essential oils rather than synthetics. Worth knowing if the patient is reactive to smell as well as to product.

What's doing the work

• Aesculus hippocastanum (horse chestnut) seed extract, the classical botanical for vessel tone.
• Sodium ascorbyl phosphate, a stable vitamin C that does not oxidise on the shelf the way ascorbic acid does.
• Borage seed oil for gamma-linolenic acid, with zinc oxide and allantoin to settle the surface.
• Ru Xiang (frankincense) and Mo Yao (myrrh) resin oils, plus cypress and mandarin.

How to use

Apply 2 to 5 times a day.
