JI XUE CAO SHUI GAO - Soothing Treatment

Also known as: Ji Xue Cao Shui Gao, Soothing Treatment, Blemish Rescue Face Cream, Oil Control Face Moisturiser.

A light face cream that does two jobs at once: bakuchiol and stable vitamin C for tone and texture, Centella and purslane for skin that reacts.

Most products that address congestion are drying. This one is not, which is why it suits skin that breaks out and is sensitive at the same time.

What's doing the work

• Bakuchiol, from Psoralea corylifolia. In a randomised double-blind trial it performed comparably to 0.5% retinol on photoageing over 12 weeks, with less scaling and stinging (Dhaliwal S et al, British Journal of Dermatology 2019;180(2):289-296). Not a psoralen, so no photosensitivity.
• Ji Xue Cao (Centella asiatica, gotu kola) is the namesake, classical for surface repair.
• Ma Chi Xian (Portulaca oleracea, purslane) to clear heat.
• Sodium ascorbyl phosphate, a stable vitamin C, with zinc PCA for oil and reactivity.

How to use

Massage a small amount into clean, dry skin on the face. Morning and evening.
