Also known as: Bai Bi Shui Gao, Softening Cream, Softening Indigo Cream, Softening Psoriasis Cream.
A cooling herbal cream for thickened, scaly, well-defined plaques. Chinese indigo and Amur cork bark clear heat, and Zi Cao and Dong Quai keep the surface from going brittle underneath.
This is the workhorse of the softening range and the one I reach for first.
What's doing the work
- Huang Bai (Phellodendron amurense) and Qing Dai as Polygonum tinctorium leaf and stem extract, the classical cooling pair for hot, raised, scaling skin.
- Huang Qin (Scutellaria baicalensis) and Da Huang (Rheum palmatum) alongside them.
- Zi Cao (Arnebia euchroma) and Dang Gui (Angelica sinensis) to nourish blood and stop the surface drying out.
- Jojoba, shea, sea buckthorn and evening primrose carry it, with zinc oxide and hydrated silica for the matte finish.
How to use
Apply 2 to 3 times a day to clean, dry skin.
Pairs well with
Where skin is very widespread or unstable, step down to the blander Bai Bi Er Hao Shui Gao or Zi Cao Shui Gao instead. Bai Bi Gao is the stronger night ointment.
