Worth being precise about the evidence: the published trial support is for concentrated indigo naturalis ointment in plaque psoriasis (Lin YK et al, \u003cem\u003eArchives of Dermatology\u003c\/em\u003e 2008;144(11):1457-1464), which is a stronger preparation than a cosmetic leaf extract. The tradition behind it is much older than the trial.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003e\n\u003cstrong\u003eHuang Bai\u003c\/strong\u003e (Phellodendron amurense, Amur cork bark) clears damp-heat and drains fire. Topically it is the workhorse for hot, wet, itchy lesions.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003e\n\u003cstrong\u003eBorage seed oil\u003c\/strong\u003e supplies gamma-linolenic acid directly.
